Work Day

Today was a work day to do some odds and ends in and around the building, and a group of volunteers came to start shingling the back side of the church. Unfortunately they ran out of shingles but it's getting there!! There are still a few things that need to be accomplished before inspection, but everyday is a step closer to being done.

Goodbye Carpenters for Christ!

The Carpenters for Christ have gone home and how much we appreciate all they have done for our church, serving the Lord the way they have. Thank you to all the ladies, men and children who have been so involved in the meal preparation, serving, and cleaning, to the people who have run errands everyday, who stayed on site to help out, those who worked behind the scenes, those who donated food, those who gave financially, and those who continually prayed for the events daily. How exciting it is to see a church body so united and having a desire to please the Lord and to give Him glory for it all!!
Although updates will be slower now, please come back and keep updated as we look to God to finish this church building. Continue to pray for Bible Baptist, that the finances will come to complete the work here and He will continue to meet our every need. Our God is good!!

Carpenters night

What a service! What a pleasure it has been to get to know these gentlemen and see their desire to serve the Lord. Tonight's service was a time to glorify God, give testimony to what He has done, to take part in the Lord's supper, and to hear some wonderful music from the men. Thank you so much carpenters for your time, your energy, your love for the Lord, for serving Him through the construction of our new church building. Thank you to the families, the wives, the children, who have missed their husbands, fathers, and sons during this week. We give God all the glory for what He continues to do at Bible Baptist Church! May Jesus Christ be praised. We pray for your safety as you return home.

Windows

Looks like there was more rain today. On the way to take pictures, the ground was wet again (3:45pm). They were able to shingle the front side of the roof, the windows have been installed and the air conditioning unit was outside. We didn't get a chance to go in to see all that has been done, but will definitely take pictures tonight during our service inside. The tents have come down and the men are packing up. What a great job men!! Thank you so much.

Last day

Today is the Carpenters for Christ last day with us. They are hoping very much to get the church building shingled today. Please pray for nice, cool weather for the men, for much needed strength and endurance after such a demanding week, and safety. Tonight, we as a congregation will be meeting in our new building to hold a service with the carpenters. How much we appreciate all the hard work these gentlemen have done! What a testimony of their love for God! Stay tuned for pictures of today...

Inside

The rain returned. These shots were just before 5:30pm after the rain came through.

Roofing continues...

Today, June 16th, 1:30pm....the tops of the trusses have been nailed in, the braces are coming down, the sheeting of the roof continues, and the tar paper is being put down. There's a lot going on inside too and hopefully at the end of the work day we'll be able to get some inside shots!

Rain

The rain came...it's a big storm too! These pictures are taken minutes before the rain hit the church area (7:15pm). The men got a good chunk of the roof finished and the weather wrap (not sure what it's called) has been put around the outside. The weather is calling for rain tomorrow too, so please pray that the storms will not interfere with the men's work (just enough for a nice cool breeze though!)

Last of the trusses!

The last truss went up this morning! Maybe we'll see shingles by the end of the day :) Yay!

Sheeting

June 14th, 7:30pm. The men are trying to use as much daylight as possible as they continue to work after supper. They're starting to sheet the roof and hopefully the trusses will be done tomorrow. Thank you men for your hard work!!
